Hawaii

I've finally made it to Hawaii. After only being here about a week or two I definitely feel comfortable. Hawaii has the mountains that allow me to go hiking if I wish as well as the beach. Both areas are amazing opportunities to take some photos that only a handful of people actually get to take. Unfortunately, this time of year is the rainy season (AKA monsoon season) which limits the possibilities a bit. If you're not familiar with Hawaii and the weather here, the rainforests definitely show a difference in their weather patterns during the rainy season with the amount of rain but the beaches don't show as much of a change in weather so much as the changes in the size of the waves and maybe an increase in the wind speeds. Because of this, I haven't ventured into the mountains as much as I would have liked and as of this moment I only have beach pictures

Catching up

This is my last quarter in school. To get my portfolio together, I need more colorful animals. In pursuit of this, I decided to go to the Denver Aquarium, Summit Lake, and Echo Lake. Just in case you ever visit Denver and want to go to the aquarium, I would think twice. I'm not saying it's not fun but I don't think it's worth the $15. Another popular area for tourism in Denver is known as Echo Lake, located on Mt. Evans. If you're planning on going there, I would advise to never go on the weekend. It's a beautiful scenic location that is very close to the city; which is why so many people visit it. These pictures are what came from both of these photo shoots. Up the mountain a little ways is Summit Lake. I had a lot of fun and got incredibly lucky and ran into a herd of about 30 mountain goats while hiking the Summit Lake trail. Enjoy and feel free to leave comments.

Paulino Gardens and Butterfly Pavilion

This past week I decided to go to the biggest flower nursery in Colorado (Paulino Gardens) and the Butterfly Pavilion. The day started out being really overcast and dreary so I wasn't sure how everything would turn out but it brightened up by the time we got to the Butterfly Pavilion so I was happy :)

Colorado weather is finally starting to let people wear tank tops and shorts again and you can definitely see it in the flowers, they are all happy that the freezes and frosts are over. They have survived and are obviously celebrating in every way possible.

Denver Zoo

Springtime at the zoo brought some good surprises. Usually, the animals stay inside and won't come out to play unless the conditions are perfect. I had never heard a real lion roar until today. It was good that somewhere in the country was pretty and sunny while the rest of the nation was under severe weather watches and warnings. Hopefully, this brings some sunlight to someone's day.
